It’ a crucial step that allows the probe to adjust its orbit getting a better view of the solar poles in the next months.
On 27th November 2021 the scientific phase will start and METIS will gradually approach the Sun observing the structure and the dynamics of the full corona, with unprecedented temporal coverage and spatial resolution.
